Training

Lane Cove Cricket Club trains at multiple locations depending on the time of the season, please see below for an overview.

For the 2018/19 season, training will be a big focus for the club, ensuring ongoing structure and active participation from all players across all grades. A Training Leadership Group has been put in place to ensure there are fielding drills, efficient running of nets as well as individual coaching when you’re in the nets. This will be headed up by Choco Mandleberg and oversighted by Head Coach, Ben Preece, so make the effort to be there!

Please keep an eye on the facebook page for training updates and the pre-season schedule here.

After daylight savings commences (Wed Oct 10), training will be turf nets on Field #1b at Saint Ignatius’ College, Riverview on Wednesdays from 5:30pm-7pm followed by dinner at The Diddy just up the road. The training facilities are fantastic, with high-quality turf nets and a nice outfield for fielding training , which ensures that we can train on turf wickets to prepare properly for matches.

We don’t have a strict training policy like grade clubs, but we do expect players to make the effort to get to training during the season as we only train once a week.

Any training updates regarding weather will be communicated on Facebook, through the email list and on the website so keep your ear close to the ground (although that is unlikely to help you…).
